Norman Zerbe is Head Digital Pathology Research at the Institute of Pathology at Charité University Hospital in Berlin, Germany. He is a computer scientist working in the field of digital and computational pathology since 2007. His research focuses on image analysis, quality assurance, regulatory topics and digital pathology workflow. He has co-organised several international scanner contests and is author and co-author of several dozen publications. He is currently leading several research projects and is the coordinator of the EMPAIA consortium.
Norman is a founding member and the current President of the European Society of Digital and Integrative Pathology (ESDIP) and chair of the Informatics, Digital Pathology and Biobanking working group of the German Society of Pathology. Norman actively participates in standardization efforts in the field of Digital Patholog within the DICOM WG-26 and the IHE PaLM WG for more than a decade.
